This Sunday will be the second week of our Chance Taker series, and if there was a way I could require every OneLifer to attend, I would!
For the past couple of months, an Iraqi refugee family has been attending OneLife. However, they aren’t in the United States to simply avoid their war-plagued homeland. They are here to gain training and support for an incredible ministry they have in the Middle East that is planting churches and distributing Bibles – all while literally risking their lives in the process. Several times each year they travel back to the Middle East, but while they are here in the States they have begun attending OneLife.
Talk about a chance taker, this family takes the cake. I’m not sure I’ve ever met someone in person who truly understood what it means to give ALL to Jesus like this family. They’ve been imprisoned for starting a church in Jordan, had close friends in Baghdad kidnapped and murdered for pastoring a church they started, and nearly had one of their own children kidnapped to ensure the child would be raised by a Muslim family. At the same time, though, they’ve seen miracles! The kind of miracles that prove that God can work through ANYBODY no matter how bad their past may be!
Proof of that is found in some of the successes this young family has seen. They have personally shared Jesus with Saddam Hussein’s son as well as other kings and presidents of Middle Eastern countries, started a radio station in Baghdad that is broadcasting the Gospel at this very moment, passed out thousands of Bibles to Kurdish Muslims in Northern Iraq (this translation wasn’t even available until two years ago!), started a church that has trained 13 pastors to start 13 MORE churches in Jordan (a neighboring country to Iraq where many refugees flee to), and led a terrorist to Christ whose assignment was to kill American soldiers – but now he is a pastor and church planter in Iraq! INCREDIBLE!!
On Sunday, you will hear their story first hand as I have invited Cinderella Agoubi to join me on stage during the sermon to talk about what being chance takers means to her and her family. As she sat in my office today telling me her story, I was moved to tears and humbled on several occasions. This is one of those days that could change your life as you hear how God can move through ANY circumstance, no matter how bad you think it is! So please – do whatever it takes to get there!
See you at 9:30 and 11.

Parts of the interview may be considered somewhat graphic, including photos. You are encouraged to check your children into OneLife Kidz for this reason and to help us eliminate distractions during the service.
